The business logo is the primary means of identification for a business. Its obvious primary function is the advertisement of the business in the market but it serves a myriad of functions in general business matters. Your business’ logo design will be included on all internal and outgoing materials, all advertising and any websites for the company.
A functional logo design can be designed simply enough so that it can be maximized or minimized to suit the needs of any canvas. It will be found on all documentation, letterhead, memos and promotional materials for the internal business functions. Each type of material will require the logo to be of a different size but still be equally legible.
In advertising the logo may have to be maximized to fit a full window, wall or even a billboard. Customer direct mail and flyer advertisement comes in a variety of sizes, shapes and textures and will all include the logo design. Flyers are sometimes copies to plain paper, in black and white, so it is important to be sure the logo is legible in monotone.
Websites and television advertisement can take the logo to another level by enabling it to be animated. Some companies use simple animation styles like rolling or flying, while others create a character out of the logo. This form of logo use is often not considered when a logo is designed, but the various ways a logo can be manipulated may increase business by simply getting additional attention from the logo. The business logo is a fundamental part of the business’ identity and should be well made to improve the image of the business. It must be included in every form of print and motion media and be of benefit to the business.
